:: Portfolio :: Cole :: {Senior Portraits}

I had the pleasure of spending a late afternoon with the Hoovers soaking up sunshine and a perfect little breeze while we captured Cole’s Senior Portraits, along with a few other sets of portraits (might as well!  I love when we can.), which I’ll share soon.  I was so grateful to hear from Mindy, as I took her older son, Chase‘s portraits a few years ago.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather.  Or cuter dogs… you’ll see what I mean… Enjoy!

Portfolio :: Kohl :: Senior Portraits

I did some professional head-shots for Kohl’s mother, Jenny.  I was thrilled when she asked me if I’d consider taking her son’s senior portraits!  Autumn is in full swing here in the midwest and the autumn colors did not disappoint while we were out and about taking photos.  I am always intrigued when I’m encouraged to bring my mud boots. I busted out my hiking boots and we adventured all over–near a dam, on a railroad bridge, into the woods, near the water… I love that this passion/hobby of mine gives me an excuse to go for a nice hike in the woods on a gorgeous day!  Kohl is hard to describe in just a few words–he is strong and brave but also has a tender heart.  He is a quick learner (catching on to some of my vague gestures and suggestions for poses and locations for portraits).  He loves the outdoors and hunts. I had fun working with him and Jenny on our adventure and got to see some new places I’d never been before.  Always fun!  And an excuse to face my fear of heights!  Here are some sneak peeks from his session…

Portfolio :: Senior Portraits :: Andrew

Andrew was referred to me by a classmate, Danelle.  You may recall her sessions from recent updates I shared.  My primary form of advertising is word of mouth and I am grateful for every referral!

The weather Saturday was iffy at first–woke up to lots of fog!  I was nervous!  But I took a deep breath and waited patiently and sure enough by the time we were scheduled to meet the misty/foggy weather was gone and replaced by beautiful sunshine and light breezes.  Perfect weather for an outdoor session!  Andrew had scoped out some locations ahead of time (which I always appreciate when I’m going somewhere new).  He has a great eye!La Belle Estelle Photography-2 La Belle Estelle Photography BW-57 La Belle Estelle Photography-81 La Belle Estelle Photography BW-23La Belle Estelle Photography-42

This last image caught my eye when I was sorting and editing the photos.  I think it’s my favorite from the session.  If you’re wondering about his black fedora, maybe this line will give you a hint about the story behind the hat: “I am the one who knocks!”

Thank you, Andrew, for welcoming me into your home and neighborhood to take your portraits.  I hope you love them!

Portfolio :: Senior Portraits :: Danelle :: Part Three

You saw parts one and two, here is part three…

We spent a good amount of time prepping this background and it was totally worth it.  Danelle and I both have seen senior portraits that incorporate sports or hobbies that have become cliche–I’m sure you’ve seen them too!  So we thought it would be cool to create this wall to show off her love of basketball and her love of running–she has a goal to run a marathon in every state!

Portfolio :: Senior Portraits :: Danelle :: Part One

Danelle saw my photos and heard about me through word of mouth, which, IMHO is the best advertising and the greatest compliment you can get!  Her family has a beautiful farm and we had a blast roaming around the fields taking her photos.  I forgot my shoes, so I completed the whole session in my flip flops and went home with a full heart and dirty feet.  I am so excited to share some sneak peeks with you from this session.  As always, I am having a really hard time narrowing this down to just a few, so forgive me and indulge me.  This is part one of a four part series…

Portfolio :: Sunrise Summer Senior Session

My niece will be starting her senior year this fall, which is crazy to think about how time flies… I swear she was just a little kid.  She has grown up to be a beautiful, smart, and poised young woman.  I’m so proud of her and so honored to take her senior portraits.  We woke up with the sun and got these done while everyone else was sleeping….

It is so hard to narrow even this handful of sneak peeks down to just one or two favorites.  She has always been so photogenic and was one of my very first subjects!  I took some photos of her and her older brother for my sister way back in the day as a surprise gift.  Anyway, if I had to pick just one, I think I’d pick the second to the last image.  That’s the one we kept coming back to when we were going through them on the lcd screen on my Nikon before I loaded them onto my computer.  Which one is your favorite?

Portfolio: Hannah {Senior Portrait Photography}

I had the honor of photographing Hannah.  It was fun to spend the afternoon together and it was a huge compliment to get to work with her after working with her sister Grace!  We had fun!  Here are a few of my favorites from our session (please forgive the sideways images!)…

Hannah wanted to include Lady in a few of her photos. Adorableness ensued.
