:: Portfolio :: Hoover Family Portraits {Family Portrait Photography}

I don’t think I’ve found myself laughing and smiling through a session as much as I did with the Hoovers.  They are such a sweet family and I love that they want their pets included in their family photos.  I am always up for that challenge.  What better setting than with a gorgeous vintage John Deere?!  “It’s been SO LONG since we’ve taken family photos professionally.” I hear this alllll the time, so it is always such a joy to capture family portraits.  You can’t see me, but I unintentionally had joined in on the plaid love.  I love the way these turned out.  Enjoy!

Portfolio:: Denis & Ashley :: Engagement Portraits

I’m lucky enough to be related to this gem of a human being and I’m so excited for her and her  fiance, Denis to tie the knot this summer!  They were kind enough to think of me as a photographer for their engagement photos!  It was super cold outside, so we just snapped a couple quickly.  We plan to take some more once it’s warmer outside.  There is a “where’s Kiera” photo, so see if you can find their small white dog in one of the photos.  Here are a few of my favorites from our session today before we ran inside to warm up with warm beverages!

Portfolio :: Kim & The Crew :: Part One :: {Family Portraits}

Kim asked me to come out for an afternoon filled with family portraits.  Fall in the Midwest can be so unpredictable and I’ve been crossing my fingers for the last few weeks that the weather would cooperate!  We got a VERY sunny afternoon with weather in the mid-50’s.  So thankful!  And I’m really happy with the warm glow the sun provided in the photos.

Side note: As I go through my final sort of the photos and type out this post, Sunday Night Football is on and I am so annoyed by that song. haha you know the song, right?  “Waitin All Day for Sunday Night!” ugh.  I love a good game of football, but that song can go.

Anyway, here are some of my favorite images from the larger group photos we took.  I’m splitting this into at least 3 posts, I think., because I’m running into my usual problem of having a hard time narrowing down my favorites to just a handful.  So watch out for a few more posts in the coming weeks!

Portfolio :: Mattson-Larsons :: Family Portraits

You may remember the sneak peeks from last week of Kohl’s senior portrait session.  We also snuck in some family portraits while I was there and I’m excited to share them with you.  Ben & Jenny live in a gorgeous home built in the 1950s that they have been working hard to renovate.  I love being able to capture people in their home and where they are most comfortable.

Sometimes clients are afraid to include their pets because of the extra unpredictability.  As a dog lover, I am always up for the challenge!  And I’ve found including that furry family member often adds extra charm and sweetness to your photos.
